To help industrial manufacturing and processing organizations more easily improve operations in light of the new challenges they face due to the pandemic, ABB is waiving fees on several of its software-as-a-service and digital applications for the rest of 2020.
ABB Electrification is offering its iUPSGuard software to new subscribers free-of-charge. This software helps facilities ensure that essential power is maintained by giving key personnel remote monitoring and diagnostic capabilities of any ABB or third-party uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to ensure that power is properly distributed to all important parts of the facility.
Through the ABB Ability Marketplace, ABB Electrification is also providing free access to:
- ABB Ability Electrical Distribution Control System—a cloud-computing digital energy management platform designed to remotely monitor, optimize, predict, and control plant performance and electrical systems; and
- ABB Ability Backup Management for Electrical Systems—Data Care, a data-sharing and backup service that provides technical information on protection and control relays and enables facilities to plan updates to coincide with planned testing and maintenance.
According to ABB, these applications are designed to remotely enhance operational efficiencies and security for businesses that need to maintain critical operations while limiting exposure of personnel continuing to work at these facilities.
To help lower the number of onsite workers needed to maintain production lines and keep robotic systems running at optimal levels, ABB’s Robotics and Discrete Automation business is offering the following products to new and renewing customers:
- RobotStudio—a simulation and offline programming software that provides a digital twin of physical assets and/or systems to create, simulate, and test a complete robot installation in a virtual 3D-environment without having to visit or disturb the actual production line.
- ABB Ability Connected Services’ Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics—a platform that monitors the health and performance of single robots or entire fleets to help customers remotely monitor and run robot systems. The platform can also be used to identify the most frequent failures, perform condition monitoring, and run trend analytics for mechanical units and controllers.
